PokerStars Casino Test

Honesty & Reputation

(0 out of 30)

PokerStars has for many many years been the leading online poker site in the world. Absolutely hands down a million miles ahead of the competition. PokerStars is huge, mahoosive, enormous… just gigantic. As such there have been ups and downs along the way and of course they have had some complaints leveled against them. But all in all when you take the big picture into perspective their reputation is spot on.
Payout Speed

(10 out of 10)

This score is based on verified casino accounts as the verification process itself is covered in the above criteria. We will take into account payments to eWallets as the guide as these are by default the quickest methods of payment. We are also taking the general payment times into account as times can vary between on-peak and off-peak times.

Payment within 4 hours = 10 points

Customer Service

(4 out of 10)

5 points are on offer straight off the bat for having live help available.

4 out of 5 for customer service speed and helpfulness.

Bonus Terms

(5 out of 10)

5 points are up for grabs for casinos providing a cashable bonus.

Bonus funds are released $10 at a time whilst playing and you have 60 days to release the lot. Unfortunately the other terms and conditions are not available at the time of writing and the site is not very user friendly so I am going to have to award zero extra points even though the bonus terms should qualify for more points.

Licenses

(8 out of 10)

This website is dedicated to UK online casinos so we can make this category very simple (only the highest scoring license counts).

8 points for a casino license from Malta.

Also have an Isle of Man license.

Design & Usability

(3 out of 10)

Ouchy. The PokerStars casino website is far from user friendly, in fact it is a mess. And for mobile casino players you need to have the download installed. Very poor and something they really need to radically work on.
Betting & Slot Options

(10 out of 10)

A maximum of 10 points are up for grabs.

2 points are on offer for having each of the following betting types available under a single account: Slots Casino, Bookmaker, Live Poker, Live Casino (Virtual Sports and Scratch cards fall under the Slots Casino category).

An additional 0.5 points are on offer per slot software provider available (this website is called SlotDog after all so it seems logical to weight slots slightly higher than the other forms of online betting).

Amaya (Chartwell), Evolution Gaming, IGT (WagerWorks), iSoftBet, Leander Games, Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, Odobo, Quickspin

Loyalty schemes

(9 out of 10)

PokerStars have numerous little VIP bonuses on offer.

Stacey’s Verdict:

While PokerStars may have the very best online poker on the planet, unfortunately their casino falls well short of the mark. It is not a bad thing and is certainly a welcome addition to the stable for players already playing at PokerStars. But it is not an online casino I would necessaily sign up to if I only wanted to play slots. The good news is they are busy with an overhaul and update so fingers crossed things will improve in the near future.

Honesty & Reputation

(28 out of 30)

PokerStars is the largest poker room in the world and has recently welcomed its 100 millionth registered account. At its peak, usually at the weekend, the client can see upwards of 200,000 of players online at one time. Having recently merged with Full Tilt Poker, there is no other Poker Client that even comes close.

There have been complaints in the past about their apparent questionable RNG etc, however none of these complaints have ever been met with any kind of substantial evidence.

PokerStars is home to Team Online Pros etc who actively promote the site, and is the top streamed Poker Site on Twitch Poker by pro players such as Jaime Staples, Doug Polk, Liv Boeree and more.

The sheer size and reputation of PokerStars makes it very difficult for other poker sites to even compete with.

Payout Speed

(7 out of 10)

Dependant on your method of withdrawal PokerStars is usually pretty quick with their payouts. Skrill and other wallets can be anywhere from instant to 48 hours and payments to Visa Cards etc are usually paid within 24 hours.

Payment within 24 hours = 7 points

Customer Service

(4 out of 10)

There is no Live Help at PokerStars so unfortunately they lose 5 points straight off the bat there.

The email service used for support, is on most occasions pretty speedy and helpful however there are times where customers have waited long periods of time for replies.

4 points

Poker Bonus Terms

(9 out of 10)

5 points are on offer for having a cashable no deposit bonus. The other sign up bonuses and ongoing bonuses are normally very easy to claim providing a withdrawal has not been recently made.

9 points.

Licenses

(10 out of 10)

10 points for a UK Gambling Commission license.
Design & Usability

(10 out of 10)

PokerStars is by far the best designed poker room out there. There are several options available to customise the client just how you want it. There are options for the main lobby, from colour coding the different types of tournaments, to choosing your font and customising which types of games are shown to you in the lobby.

The actual poker tables themselves can also be customised using different themes. This effects the colour of the felt at your tables, the style of cards used, and even the colour of the cards at your table. PokerStars also offers the most extensive range of bet slider options and multi table options available on the market.

You can also use a personal avatar at PokerStars, adding to that personal touch.

Poker Games & Options
(10 out of 10)
The variety of games available at PokerStars is huge and there is something for everyone. Game types range from NLHE right through to razz and even badugi.

There are cash tables available both normal and zoom variety, multi table tournaments, sit’n’gos and now for the fast paced amongst us spin and gos.

The tournament schedule has recently been changed, which was again met with mixed review, but seems to cater better for all levels of player.

Of course all of these variants are availbe in micro low or high stakes.

Loyalty schemes

(9 out of 10)

The VIP scheme at PokerStars is amongst the most prestigious in the business. Recently changes were made to this scheme to cater more to the lower stakes players which was met with some outrage from higher stakes players even resulting in a 3 day strike.

However, early indication shows traffic is still on the up, and now all variations of players are enjoying the benefits of the VIP club.

Stacey’s Verdict:

PokerStars is at the moment the only poker site I play on. The variety of games for the stakes I play make it by far in terms of game selection the best site for me to play on. The field sizes of the tournaments have to be a negative for me however the player pool at the level I play is much softer than higher stakes. The options available for customisation are by far superior than any other site, and I use these daily especially the bet slider options. I think the rating we have produced is a fair one, whilst PokerStars is far superior in most areas than other sites there are still areas where they can definitely improve, their customer service being the main one. For those who want a vast range of games, high prize pools and decent bonuses and VIP club PokerStars is definitely the site to be on.
