Chomp Casino Test

Honesty & Reputation

(9 out of 30)

All casinos operating under the Nektan brand have a very weak reputation in the online gaming industry. The company was founded by industry veterans that never covered themselves in glory (though by no means am I suggesting they are crooks).

The casino bonus terms at Chomp Casino appear to be purposefully confusing and misleading. The maximum withdrawals from bonuses are ridiculously low basically making it mathematically impossible for the casino to lose.

The dormancy clause is rather predatory:

“10. DORMANT ACCOUNTS

10.1. If You do not use Your Account to play Real Money Play or Free To Play for a period of 6 consecutive months, such Account shall be deemed to be dormant (“Dormant Account”). Nektan will notify You at least 14 days prior to Your Account becoming dormant, via the email address that You registered on Your Account. Nektan reserves the right to retain any positive balance existing on a Dormant Account. You may reactivate Your Dormant Account simply by emailing our Customer Support team. Nektan reserves the right to impose reasonable administrative charges on Dormant Accounts, which will be subtracted from any unused balance.”

I cannot give Chomp Casino casino a zero for this reputation category as there are far worse culprits out there and they have somehow managed to land themselves a couple of top casino licenses so there’s small comfort for players in that. Relative to a lot of the other Nektan based casinos Chomp actually comes from Nektan themselves and offer much greater withdrawal limits and as such can be considered “flagships” for the whole group. As such their reputation is slightly better than the white hat versions.

Payout Speed

(0 out of 10)

Payment longer than 48 hours = 0 points
Customer Service

(1 out of 10)

5 points are on offer straight off the bat for having live help available. = NO LIVE CHAT

No points for live support and I think I’ll have to be generous and give them 1 point for responding to emails and phone calls. Eventually. But that’s about your lot.

Bonus Terms

(2 out of 10)

5 points are up for grabs for casinos providing a cashable bonus. = STICKY BONUS

The other 5 points are on offer based on the wagering requirements, how many days you get to complete your wagering, etc.

The bonuses are a second chance bonus but there is a pathetic 2x bonus cash out policy in place on the welcome bonus and a 4x cash out on other bonuses and the bonus terms are hidden on different screens and make it very very difficult to actually work out what is allowed or not.

The welcome bonus is very generous mind you, deposit £10 and play with £70 with a max cash out of £140. So this bonus scores a couple of brownie points but the other bonuses on offer for example the 100% Tuesday reload have a max cash out of 4x the bonus which we consider to be very very weak indeed. I think I can only give them 2 points out of 10 for the bonuses.

Licenses

(10 out of 10)

10 points for a UK Gambling Commission license.

Also have a Gibraltar casino license

Design & Usability

(2 out of 10)

This casino confuses with you being sent left, right, backwards and forwards. Some screens look great and I can not understand why the design doesn’t utilise the best they have created? Very poor and illogical.
Betting & Slot Options

(4.5 out of 10)

A maximum of 10 points are up for grabs.

2 points are on offer for having each of the following betting types available under a single account: Slots Casino, Bookmaker, Live Poker, Live Bingo, Live Casino (Virtual Sports and Scratchcards fall under the Slots Casino category).

An additional 0.5 points are on offer per slot software provider available (this website is called SlotDog after all so it seems logical to weight slots slightly higher than the other forms of online betting).

2 points for having a slot casino and 2.5 points for having NetEnt, NextGen, Barcrest, WMS and Nektan slots.

Loyalty schemes

(0 out of 10)

Online casinos can offer all sorts of schemes from cashback on losses to player loyalty points to regular free spins to… well the list is endless.

No loyalty scheme available

Greg’s Verdict:

Chomp Casino is not one that we can recommend at this time. There is too much wrong with the general terms and conditions, the bonus terms and conditions and in the website design itself. I don’t enjoy being too negative so I hope this chain sorts themselves out and realises their terms are stuck in the dark ages. But I am not going to hold my breath.
